The Roy family’s story in the insurance business began over 90 years ago when Vital Roy Assurances was founded in Côte-de-Beaupré in 1927. The passion for serving customers was passed down from father to son when Vital Roy Assurances became Assurances Rémi Roy in 1969.

The family firm grew substantially in 2003, following its merge with Groupe PMT, an insurance firm with strong family values founded in the Portneuf region in 1946. PMT ROY Assurances et Services Financiers was born. Over time, the new company acquired other Quebec brokerage firms, creating a network of offices from Montréal to the Magdalen Islands.

In 2021, PMT ROY made the most important change in its history by dividing its operations into two separate entities: PMT ROY Damage Insurance Firm and Financial Services and PMT ROY Damage Insurance Agency. This innovative new model will allow the company to continue its development in a changing insurance landscape.
